Tourism Leaders Give Industry Update to Local Businessmen

Visit Orlando President & CEO George Aguel and Central Florida Hotel & Lodging Association President/CEO, Rich Maladecki, provided an update on the local tourism industry to more than 100 business leaders at the monthly Community Leader Forum hosted by GrayRobinson, P.A. Attendees learned how visitor spending provides benefits for the community and that the Tourist Development Tax reached $188 million last year. Other topics included Brazil becoming Orlando's No. 2 international market and ways we are working to continue attracting more visitors to the destination.

Wine Enthusiast credited our destination for turning its rich local resources into one of the hottest culinary scenes in the southeast. We also had success leveraging a visit by a celebrity from the United Kingdom to gain press in key publications The People and OK!

This type of media coverage informs consumers about what's new in Orlando. It's reason to talk about our destination with family and friends, and consider a visit here when the time is right. We are fortunate to represent a place that gives people so much to talk about it.
